Surgery Clinics

We hold specialist appointments to monitor patients with ongoing chronic conditions. These are called Long Term Condition (LTC) reviews. You will be invited for your LTC appointment when it is your birth month. Please await your invitation as this helps us to manage the demand for these appointments

It is helpful when you call to book your appointment if you can advise the receptionist of the conditions you have. If you have asthma or COPD you will need a respiratory appointment. If you have hypertension, diabetes or another non-respiratory illness your appointment will be different. You may need two appointments if you have a respiratory illness AND another type of long term condition. We will do our very best to minimise the number of times you need to attend the surgery.

Respiratory reviews

If you have Asthma or COPD you will be invited once a year for a full review of your condition. Patients on asthma medication will be invited to check up appointments with the practice nurse. Annual checks including spirometry are advised for Emphysema.

Diabetes

You will be invited for a full 2 part review of your diabetes once a year. This will include a 30 minute observation and foot check appointment followed by a telephone call with our Diabetes specialist Nurse. You may be invited in 6 monthly for additional checks if the GP deems this necessary.

Hypertension

If you are diagnosed with high blood pressure you will be monitored regularly by the practice. You will be invited for a full review once a year. You may be asked to submit home blood pressure readings in between reviews. You can come to the surgery at any time and use our self serve blood pressure machine. Just give your readings to the receptionist and they will add them to your record for a clinician to check.

  • Chronic kidney disease

Other clinics

NHS Health checks

If you’re aged 40 to 74 and do not have a pre-existing health condition, you should be invited to an NHS Health Check by your GP or local council every 5 years. Please visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/nhs-health-check/ for more information.

If you think you are eligible but have not been invited, contact the surgery.

Cervical smear tests

If you are of the age where you are centrally recalled by NHS England for cervical screening, you can book an appointment for this with our Practice Nurse. This is a very important screening test and does not take long to do.

Minor surgery clinic

Certain small surgical operations can be performed at the surgery. With minor surgery the recovery time is usually short and you will be back to your usual activities fairly quickly (depending on your procedure). Before attending for minor surgery you will need to see a doctor for the diagnosis and then you will be given an appointment to attend for your procedure.

Cryo clinic

Freezing of warts and other minor skin lesions. Clinics are held regularly.

Private patient appointments

Our practice has had a private patient service for many years. Should you wish to register as a private patient, or have any queries which you wish to discuss further, please contact our practice manager who will be able to help you.
